Jakov Milatović

Jakov Milatović (Cyrillic: Јаков Милатовић; born 1983) is Montenegrin economist and politician who is currently serving as the Minister of Economy in the Montenegrin cabinet of Zdravko Krivokapić since 4 December 2020.[1]

Biography

Early life and education

Milatović was born in Titograd, SR Montenegro, SFR Yugoslavia. He graduated from University of Montenegro Faculty of Economics, getting a master's degree at Oxford University, where he studied as a Chevening Fellow. He was awarded as the best student of his generation, and won scholarships from the EU, the Government of Austria and the US.[2]

Economics career

Milatović works as an economist at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in Podgorica, previously worked in the same institution, but in London, UK, then moved to Podgorica, covering the countries of the Western Balkans. He also worked for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt and as an analyst in the NLB Group in Montenegro.[3] On 5 November 2020, the Prime Minister-designate of Montenegro, Zdravko Krivokapić, appointed he a candidate for the Minister of Economy and Economic Development in the new cabinet of Montenegro.[4]
