James George Arbuthnot
James ("Jimmy") George Arbuthnot (31 December 1883 in Nebraska – 2 December 1964 in Placer, California) was the head college wrestling coach of the Oregon State Beavers wrestling team at Oregon State University from 1911–1917 and in 1920. In eight seasons of coaching at OSU, he compiled a 10-3-3 dual meet record and won 5 conference championships.[1] He was a welterweight.
He was the athletic director 1906 - 1910.[2]
He had a bulldog which was unofficial mascot of the University.

Son of Samuel B. Arbuthnot Born 7 August 1848 Pine Township, Pennsylvania Died 5 August 1889 in Hubbell, Nebraska and Sallie Kelley. Married in Livingston, Montana 28 December 1912 Harriet ("Hattie") Carrie Tache (born Brainerd, Crow Wing, Minnesota 28 May 1887; died Seattle, King, Washington 10 March 1951), dau of Louis Tache and Christina, née Westling.
