Jane Taber

Jane Taber is a Canadian journalist, born in 1957 and former co-host of CTV's Question Period with Craig Oliver. Taber was also the senior parliamentary writer in The Globe and Mail's Ottawa bureau, from 2003 to 2012 when she relocated to the newspaper's Halifax office.[1] She has covered Parliament Hill since 1986, working as a parliamentary reporter and columnist for the Ottawa Citizen, the National Post, and finally for the Globe.[2] For three seasons, from 1995 to 1997, she was the host of a 30-minute-long political affairs show on WTN (now W Network) called Jane Taber's Ottawa.[3] She also co-produced an hour-long documentary on the struggles of women in politics that was broadcast during the 1997 election campaign.

On June 26, 2011, Taber relinquished her role as co-host of Question Period to be replaced for the 2011–12 season by Kevin Newman. However, she continued to take part in the program as a regular guest journalist, and also acted as a stand-in host for Don Martin on CTV News Channel's Power Play right up to her departure for Halifax. She is now the Vice President of Public Affairs at NATIONAL PR and lives in Halifax.[4][5]

She is married to the night editor at allNovaScotia, David F. Guy. They have two children.[6]
