FC Midtjylland

A central defender, Sery began his career with spells at CIK, KB, B93 and Lyngby,[3] before joining the academy at Superliga club FC Midtjylland in July 2015.[4] He progressed to sign a contract extension in January 2018 and was a part of the club's 2017–18 and 2018–19 U19 Ligaen-winning squads.[2][5][6][7][8] Sery was an unused substitute for the first team on one occasion during the 2018–19 season and signed a five-year professional contract in 2019.[9][10] He spent the 2019–20 season away on loan and returned to begin 2020–21 as a member of the first team squad.[11] On 4 October 2020, Sery made his senior debut for the club as a substitute for Alexander Scholz after 77 minutes of a 2–2 Superliga draw with AC Horsens.[9]

On 22 June 2019, Sery joined the B team at Championship club Brentford on loan for the duration of the 2019–20 season.[12][13] He was an unused substitute for the first team during a 1–0 FA Cup third round victory over Stoke City on 4 January 2020.[9]

International career

Sery has been capped by Denmark at U16, U17, U18 and U19 level.[14] On 19 November 2019, he made his U21 debut as a substitute for Victor Nelsson after 77 minutes of a 5–1 2021 UEFA European U21 Championship qualifying win over Malta.[14]
