Tryon originally committed to play college football at Washington State, but flipped his commitment to the University of Washington.[2]

College career

Tryon redshirted his true freshman season.[3] As a redshirt freshman, he played in 12 games with 20 tackles, two tackles for loss and one sack.[4][5] Tryon made 41 tackles with 12.5 tackles for loss and eight sacks in his redshirt sophomore season and was named second team All-Pac-12 Conference.[6][7] Following the announcement that Pac-12 would postpone the 2020 season, Tryon announced that he would opt-out of season in order to focus on preparing for the 2021 NFL Draft.[8]
