John Fleming (bishop)
John Fleming, DD, DCL, (born 16 February 1948) is an Irish Roman Catholic clergyman who has been the Bishop of Killala since 2002.[1]

Born in Ardpatrick, County Limerick, Ireland on 16 February 1948, educated at St Munchin's College (1960-1965) he went on to study at St Patrick's College, Maynooth and The Irish College, Rome, he was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Limerick on 18 June 1972.[2]
Fleming undertook postgraduate studies in Canon Law at the Gregorian University, Rome qualifying with a Licentiate in 1981. He returned to Rome to study for his Doctorate in Canon Law, and was appointed Vice Rector of the Irish College in 1986, and Rector in 1993.[3]
He was appointed the Bishop of the Diocese of Killala by Pope John Paul II on 19 February 2002. His consecration to the Episcopate took place on 7 April 2002, the principal consecrator was Michael Neary (Archbishop of Tuam), with Seán Baptist Brady (Archbishop (later Cardinal) of Armagh), and Thomas Anthony Finnegan (Bishop Emeritus of Killala) serving as co-consecrators.[1]
