John Sakamoto
John Sakamoto is a Canadian journalist and music critic. He is best known for the Anti-Hit List column, which has appeared on canoe.ca and in eye, the Toronto Sun and the Toronto Star. In Anti-Hit List, Sakamoto compiles a list of songs that are under the radar screen of popular music. The column also includes the Week's Best Invented Words and Ponder It. He has been writing the Anti-Hit List for more than 15 years.[1] He served as executive producer of canoe.ca's entertainment section, Jam!,[2] from 1996 to 2002.
Sakamoto released his very own CD compilation, titled John Sakamota's Anit-Hit List in 2003. The CD features 10 tracks, which included artists Sharon Jones, Shawn Amos, The Russian Futurists, Border, and An Pierle.[3]
In 2005, the Anti-Hit List expanded into a biweekly podcast.
