John Stokes (Archdeacon of Armagh)
John Whitley Stokes (b. Dublin 6 January 1801 – d. Armagh 27 November 1883[1]) was Archdeacon of Armagh from 1842[2] until his death.
Stokes was educated at Trinity College, Dublin.[3] He was for many years Rector of Clogherny.[4]
There is a memorial on the north wall of the north transept of St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh.[5]
