Life

George Sarsfield was born in Ireland, the son of a prestigious Jacobite family, linked to the Irish brigades who served in France.[3] He had arrived in Cordoba in mid-1750. He had a small ranch dedicated to agriculture.[4] He was married twice, first María Josefa Palacios (born in Córdoba),[5] and after with Marta Mercedes de Albarracín.[6]

Jorge Sarsfield was the maternal grandfather of Dalmacio Vélez Sársfield, a prestigious lawyer and politician of Argentina. The Sarfield family were descendants of Patrick Sarsfield, 1st Earl of Lucan.[7]
