Juniperus chinensis from Six Dynasties

One Juniperus chinensis, over 1500 years-old, is located near the Southeast University in Nanjing. It was planted in his Palace by the Emperor Wu of Liang in Six Dynasties. Later, the Palace was destroyed by the war, however, the tree survives today.

In Ming Dynasty, the Guozijian (highest national educational institution) was built in the same place. In the beginning of the 20th century, the Liang Jiang Normal Institute was built here. It is now the location of Southeast University.
