Kamren Curl

Kamren Curl (born March 31, 1999) is an American football strong safety for the Washington Football Team of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Arkansas and was drafted by Washington in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

College career

Curl attended the University of Arkansas, where he played for the Razorbacks football team. As a true freshman, he started 12 games at cornerback before switching to safety for his sophomore season, where he had 53 tackles and five pass breakups in 11 games.[1] As a junior, Curl had 76 tackles, two interceptions, and two sacks.[2]

Curl was selected by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round with the 216th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.[3] He signed his four-year rookie contract on July 22, 2020.[4]

Curl took over as the starting strong safety after Landon Collins suffered a season-ending injury in Week 8.[5] The following week against the New York Giants, Curl led the team with 11 tackles and recorded his first career sack.[6] He recorded his first career interception in a Week 14 game against the San Francisco 49ers, which he also returned 76 yards for a touchdown.[7] He finished the season with an additional two interceptions along with 88 tackles.
