Katalin Novák

Katalin Éva Veresné Novák[1] (born 6 September 1977) is a government minister and Member of Parliament in Hungary, as well as vice president of the Fidesz party.

Education

After completing her secondary education at the Endre Ságvári Secondary School in Szeged in 1996, she studied Economics at Corvinus University and Law at the University of Szeged, including studies at Paris Nanterre University. She speaks French, English and German.[2]

Career

Novák started work at the Foreign Ministry in 2001, specializing in European Union and European matters. In 2010 she became a ministerial advisor and in 2012 was appointed Head of Cabinet of the Ministry of Human Resources.[2]

In 2014 she became State Secretary for Family and Youth Affairs at the Ministry of Human Capacities, becoming Minister in October 2020.

She has been the Vice President of Fidesz since 2017.[3]

Personal life

Katalin Novák is married and has three children.

International recognition

In 2019 she became a Knight of the French Legion of Honour[4] and a Commander of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.[5]
