Katja Franzen

Katja Franzen (born 12 January 1990 in Kempen, Germany) is a German long track speed skater.[1] Franzen is a sprinter, specialized in the 500 metres.

As a junior Franzen won a 500 metres in Inzell during the 2008-09 ISU Junior World Cup Speed Skating and participated at the 2009 World Junior Squash Championships finishing 6th in the 500 metres event. Franzen represented her nation at the World Sprint Speed Skating Championships for Women in 2020, finishing 23rd overall.[2] She participated at the 2020 European Speed Skating Championships for Women in the 500 metres event. She also competed at other international competitions, including at ISU Speed Skating World Cups.[2]

Franzen participates since 2007 at national championships. She became national champion at the 2020 German Single Distance Championships in the 500 metres. As of 2020 she won furthermore 5 silver medals at national championships.[2]
