Career

At the age of eight, Taposh released his first music album, Pakihder Pathshala (Birds' School) on the 21st of February 1991, at Ekushey Book Fair.[5] He studied at Bangladesh Institute of Broadcasting art (BIBA).[5] He took singing lessons at Shishu Academy, learned folk music at Chhayanaut.[5] and set a national record by having a solo album- the first for a child of that age. He studied at Bangladesh Institute of Broadcasting art (BIBA) and stood first in a five-year course while also taking singing course at Shishu Academy and folk music at Chhayanaut. At age nine, he began to move from classical music toward band music and taught himself how to play the guitar, flute and keyboard; calculating which instruments he could afford on his weekly TV earnings as he was reluctant to impose on his family. As a teenager he began to play for all major bands (including for the popular Bengali band Miles). He also composed a very successful duet album by James and Hasan, named Khelaram Khele Ja.

Early in his career, Taposh was asked to make videos for the (then) new television station ATN. He also worked as the only Bangladeshi intern producer at MTV in Singapore. At ATN, he had made a name for himself and was given a major stake in the company as the CEO and Managing Director of two new wings- ATN Records and Events. Alongside these accolades, a lesser known fact about Taposh is that he has a unique skill of interacting which has served him well as an interviewer. Amongst a wide array of cultural icons Taposh has interviewed legends such as James (singer) of NagarBaul and Azam Khan (singer) in his teenage years.

At age 20, he suspended his music career to create a financial platform from which to launch a Bangladeshi music industry. Within three years he had established sizable income streams of his own and launched an event management company- One More Zero. He supervised the first event, the Cricket World Cup 2011 in Dhaka, and was met with massive success.

He created Gaan Bangla,[1] [6] a music streaming television network, in 2013 and introduced top artists through his channel with music videos, refraining from broadcasting any kind of other programs. The channel plays both English and Bangla music.

Taposh is the brain child and the lead composer of 'Wind of Change' [7] - one of the most versatile and multi dimensional musical platform of the world with its headquarters in Bangladesh. Through this platform Taposh has collaborated with over 141 international musicians as a lead composer and music conductor. Taposh also has two international solo collaborations.
