Background

Khasan Askhabov was born on February 13, 1995 in Grozny (Chechnya), on the same day with his twin brother Hussein Askhabov.[8] The brothers began to practice mixed martial arts at the age of 13 under the guidance of the trainer Khusein Khaliev.[8]

In 2012, the brothers moved to France, where they began to play for the Parisian club "Gladiator fight".[9][10] In April 2013, Askhabov fought his first MMA fight against American Marc-David Courson.[1] In October 2013, he became the European champion in combat sambo.[11] In 2015 Askhabov became the world champion in grappling according to the North American Grappling Association (NAGA).[12] In the same year, he won the WWFC world champion title in the featherweight weight category (up to 66 kg).[13] He defended this title 7 times. In 2018, Askhabov's fight with Odintsov was nominated for the WWFC Awards 2018 in the nomination "Best Fight of the Year".[14]
