Liliane Mandema

Liliane Mandema (12 February 1959 – 22 June 2020) was a Dutch athlete who was active in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She specialized in the 200 metres and 400 metres which made her a Dutch national champion several times. At the age of 19, she was part of the Olympia '48 team setting the Dutch national records for club teams in the 4 x 400 meter in 1978.[1]

After her career, she became a physiotherapist. She treated many (international) athletes. She organized various athletic activities. For these efforts she received the Sports Medal from the Municipality of The Hague in May 2020.[2] At that time she had already cancer and died on 22 June 2020.[3]
