List of Dallas (1978 TV series) cast members

This is a list of actors appearing on the 1978–1991 US television series Dallas. During its 14 seasons on air, the show featured 21 regular cast members. Further more, 32 actors were billed as "also starring" during the first scene of the episodes, and 24 were billed as "special guest star" in the closing credits. Additionally, hundreds more were billed as either guest stars or co-stars. This list includes those with at least eight appearances.

  1. In Season 8, Barbara Bel Geddes was completely absent from Dallas and the character of Miss Ellie was played by Donna Reed for Season 8 only. See further down the table for more information of Donna Reed as Miss Ellie
  2. Patrick Duffy's two onscreen appearances as Bobby Ewing in Season 9 consisted of a flashback to the Season 8 finale which was uncredited, and the infamous shower scene right at the end of Season 9. Patrick Duffy's character in the Season 9 finale was left blank on the end credits, setting up the first scene in Season 10 Episode 1 when it was revealed that Bobby's death in the Season 8 finale and all of Season 9 apart from the last scene was a dream that Pamela Barnes Ewing had been having.
  3. After appearing in 250 episodes, Victoria Principal left Dallas for good after the Season 10 finale, but Pamela Barnes Ewing was played by Margaret Michaels in Season 12 Episode 1. Michaels was billed as "Guest Star".
  4. Linda Gray appeared as Sue Ellen in the Season 14 finale, Conundrum, an episode set in an alternate universe in which J.R. Ewing had never been born.
  5. Steve Kanaly as Ray Krebbs left Dallas at the end of Season 11, but briefly returned for Episodes 6–10 of Season 12 and as part of the main Starring cast.
  6. Steve Kanaly appeared as Ray Krebbs in the Season 14 finale, Conundrum, an episode set in an alternate universe in which J.R. Ewing had never been born.
  7. In one episode in Season 2, Jenna Wade was played by Morgan Fairchild. In two episodes in Season 3, Jenna Wade was played by Francine Tacker. Both Fairchild and Tacker were billed as "Guest Star". From Seasons 7–11, Jenna Wade was played by Priscilla Beaulieu Presley in a total of 133 episodes. Presley was promoted to the main Starring cast for Seasons 8–11.
  8. For her first appearance in Season 8 Episode 7, Donna Reed as Ellie Ewing Farlow is billed among the "Also Starring" cast. For Episodes 8–30, Donna Reed was a part of the main Starring cast.
  9. For her one episode appearance in Season 11, Kimberly Foster played an unrelated, unnamed character. In Seasons 13 and 14, Foster appeared as Michelle Stevens in a total of 37 episodes.
  10. For her two episodes appearance in Season 5, Barbara Stock played an unrelated character, Heather Wilson. In Seasons 13 and 14, Stock appeared as Liz Adams in a total of 17 episodes.
