List of Florida Atlantic Owls head football coaches

The Florida Atlantic Owls college football team represents Florida Atlantic University in the East Division of Conference USA (CUSA). The Owls compete as part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. The program has had 3 head coaches since it began play during the 2001 season.

Lane Kiffin the former head coach of the Owls.

The team has played more than 190 games over 15 seasons. In that time, only one Head Coach has led the Owls to postseason bowl games: Howard Schnellenberger. FAU has a 2–0 record in two bowl games in which they have competed: the 2007 New Orleans Bowl[1] and the 2008 Motor City Bowl.[1] The Owls have been Co-Conference Champions once: in 2007 by Schellenberger, during the Owl's time in the Sun Belt Conference.[2]

Schellenberger spent the most seasons (11) as the Owl's head coach and took the program to its only bowl games. The highest winning percentage by any coach is by Brian Wright, who was an interim coach during the 2013 season, who finished the season 4–0, following the resignation of former Head Coach Carl Pelini.

The lowest winning percentage for any coach is Charlie Partridge, who has gone 3–9 (.250) in each of his two seasons; 9–27 (.250) overall.

The current head coach of the Owls is Lane Kiffin, who was hired in December 2016.[3] Kiffin was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Alabama from 2014 to 2016 and was previously the head coach of the Oakland Raiders from 2008 to 2009.
