Note
  1. Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

Kim has won numerous accolades throughout the course of his career, including the Best Actor (TV) at 48th Baeksang Arts Awards for his acting in the historical drama series Moon Embracing the Sun and have accumulated 6[lower-alpha 1] Daesang (Grand Prize), the most prestigious award in South Korea for television/film, from various award ceremonies.

I am very grateful for this moment, but I am ashamed as well. It's like getting a lot of homework. I'll keep trying to become a better actor in order to remain worthy of this award.

Kim said at the 48th Baeksang Arts Awards after winning against heavyweight veterans such as Han Suk-kyu, Shin Ha-kyun and Cha Seung-won.[1]

Accolades

The Korean Popular Culture and Arts Awards is an annual South Korean government-run awards ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism's Korea Creative Content Agency. The ceremony, which was first held in 2010, "honor(s) those who have made a contribution to contemporary pop culture and the arts, including actors, singers, comedians and models." Kim has been the two times recipient of the same and is the only actor to do so.
