Titles
- 1998: Title of Knight Bachelor; awarded by the British Government in the 1998 New Year Honours.[1] The investiture by Queen Elizabeth II took place on 17 July 1998.[2] Gambon, despite being Irish, retains British citizenship making the Knighthood substantive rather than honorary.
- 1990: Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE), awarded by the British Government in the 1990 New Year Honours.[3] and invested by The Prince of Wales.
