Baji Rao II
  • Shivaji (1627/1630-1680) – spent part of his childhood here in the 1630s and 40s.
  • Jijabai (1598-1674) – wife of Shahajiraje Bhosale Jagirdar of Pune, Shahajiraje; mother of Shivaji who raised him during 1640s in Pune.
  • Peshwa Bajirao- was a minister in the court of Shahu of Satara, responsible for shifting the administrative capital to Pune
