Tiger | United Kingdom | The ship was wrecked on "Astovia Island", in the Indian Ocean. All 26 people on board survived. One of them was killed by a shark, fourteen sailed to seek another island from where rescue could be arranged. No further trace. Eleven people were rescued 70 days after the shipwreck by a whaler. Tiger was on a voyage from Liverpool to Calcutta.[15] |
