List of storms named Ulysses

The name Ulysses has been used by PAGASA to name storms that form or enter in their Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). Ulysses replaced Unding in the lists after it was retired in 2004.

  • Typhoon Dolphin (2008) (T0822, 27W, Ulysses) – sank a cargo passenger ship, killing at least 47 people
  • Typhoon Vamco (2020) (T2022, 25W, Ulysses) – made landfall in Luzon, Philippines, as a relatively weak but destructive typhoon, causing 73 deaths.

After making its destructive landfall in the Philippines and causing ₱20.3 billion worth of economic losses, the name Ulysses was retired by PAGASA from its rotational list of typhoon names and will no longer be used in the future. The name Upang was chosen to replace Ulysses and will be used for the first time in 2024.[1][2]
