Lluís Cortés

Lluís Cortés (born 10 August 1986) is a Spanish football coach who is the manager of Primera División club FC Barcelona.[1]

He appeared for the UE Lleida in the Spanish Segunda División, from 2004 to 2005.

Coaching career

He has extensive experience of the women's game, having managed to Catalan U18, U16 and U12 teams, and the senior side from 2014 to 2018.

Cortés joined FC Barcelona Femení as an analyst in the summer of 2017 and until 2019 he was part of the assistant coaching team in the women's football section.

In May 2019, he replaced his coach colleague Spanish Fran Sánchez, as new head coach for the women's team of FC Barcelona.[2] Since his election as new head coach, he made the biggest result for the club, when he qualified the team for the 2019 UEFA Women's Champions League Final. Barcelona was defeated 1–4 by Lyon. A year later in 2020, he won the Spanish Primera División, because of the talented team.[3]
