The village history is glorious it was known by the name Lakhipur but with time its name shortened to Lookhi. It is situated on the KosliKanina road and is equidistant from both cities. It is a large village with an approximate population of 6000 to 8000. Dr.Abhay Singh Rao First man who is DCP in Haryana Police Depts. He is also the First SI in India who is PhD. in Crime.His big brother Rajpal Yadav first man who join the Indian Air-force in the village. Many people of this village are commissioned as airmen like Devprakash Sharma who served 20 years in Indian Air Force.People like Devender Kumar are serving till now as an Havaldar in CISF. Officers from this village are also serving the nation people like Durgesh Prasad who is serving as lt.commander in the Indian Navy. The people like them are very disciplined and calm. This village has an Arya Samaj temple, the temple was paved in 1957 by prospective Arya of village. Hawan and certain cultural activities also performed in Arya Samaj temple for the peace and calmness of village. One boy Anuj Rao famous as Sallu Miya who choreography in a lot of Haryanyee album and mimicry of Sachin Tendulkar, Ajay devgon, Amrish Puri,Sourav Ganguly Nana Patekar.The village is known for its vast contribution in the movement of Indian independence. Over 25 residents of Lookhi participated in the Indian independence movement.

Education

The village has earned a name for high literacy rate among females, as the village have produced 326 female teachers.[2]
