Los Moonlights

Los Moonlights is a rock band from Montevideo, Uruguay. Formed at the end the 1960s and fronted by the Iriarte brothers, they began by playing live covers.[1] With the arrival of longtime members "Dino" and Yamandu Pérez, they started writing original material. After a couple of singles for the Clave label, the group signed with De La Planta, where they recorded their debut album. Simply titled Moonlights, the LP contains such songs as "Vamos dulce muchacha" (C'mon sweet girl) and "Milonga de pelo largo" (Milonga of the long hair). They mainly played shows in small local establishments. With the military coup of 1973, Los Moonlights, as so many others, suffered under the abrupt change of rules. Unlike most other bands of the time, they attempted to survive and kept playing live until the effort proved useless. Following the commercial flop of their second album, Moonlight Hoy (Moonlight today), in 1976, the band split in 1977 and Dino pursued a solo career.

In 2015, the band reunited after more than 40 years, and launched a national tour to promote their new album, titled Otro día en la ciudad (Another day in the city).[2][3]
