Lovergirl

"Lovergirl" is a song written, produced and recorded by American singer-songwriter Teena Marie for her 1984 album, Starchild. The song was Marie's first hit song under her new label, Epic, after a lawsuit with Motown.[3] The song also became Marie's biggest hit, peaking at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Awards and accolades

Marie received a nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for the single at the 28th Grammy Awards—her second nomination in that category. The award was won by "Freeway of Love" by Aretha Franklin.
