Early career

Menalo was born in Split, but grew up in Čapljina where he started playing football at a local club.[2] He made his senior debut against Mladost on 2 March 2014 at the age of 17.[3] On 14 May, he scored his first senior goal against Igman Konjic.[4]

In January 2015, when Menalo was a member of Široki Brijeg's under-19 side, he signed a professional contract with the senior team until 2020.[5] On 21 September 2016, in a game against his former club Čapljina, Menalo scored his first career hat-trick.[6] Menalo was voted the best young player of the league in his last two seasons with Široki Brijeg.[7]

Dinamo Zagreb

On 13 February 2018, Croatian team Dinamo Zagreb announced that Menalo would join them the following season on a five-year contract.[8] He made his competitive debut for the club against Rudeš on 27 July 2018.[9]

In January 2019, Menalo was loaned to Slaven Belupo until the end of the season.[10]

In July 2019, he was sent on a season-long loan to Slovenian side Olimpija Ljubljana.[11]

International career

Menalo played for various Bosnian national youth teams, such as the under-19 and under-21 teams.[12][13]

In January 2018, he received his first senior call-up, for friendly games against the United States and Mexico.[14] Menalo debuted in a goalless draw against the former on 28 January.[15]
