Mária Földvári-Boér

Mária Földvári-Boér married name Mária Gurovits (born 1934) is a former Hungarian long track speed skater, who was active in the 1950s.[1]

Földvári-Boér represented her nation at the World Allround Speed Skating Championships for Women in 1956, finishing 22nd overall.[2] She was together with Ilona Róka and Ágnes Kovács in 1956 the first Hungarian women who participated at the world championships. She also competed at other international competitions.

Between 1950 and 1955 she competed five times at the Swedish Allround Championships and became national champion in 1952 and 1953. She won the silver medal in 1954 and 1955.[2] She is married to Olympic sprint canoer József Gurovits who won the bronze medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics.[3] As of 2018 they are living together in Zürich, Switzerland for 62 years. They go back to Hungary once or twice a year.[3]
