Maa...Tomay Chara Ghum Asena , also called Maa (english: Mother) was a Bengali television serial telecast by Star Jalsha.[1][2][3] It was produced by Shree Venkatesh Films and starred Aparajita Adhya, Tithi Bose and Sritama Bhattacharjee in lead roles. The show narrates bond between mother and daughter.

Production

The show was produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. For 4 years it had the highest TRP ratings on Bengali television.[5] The serial ended on August 3, 2014.[5] The episode featured stars of other serials as well as film personalities like Koel Mallick and Raj Chakraborty.[6]

Remakes

The show has been remade in Hindi as Meri Maa which used to air on Life Ok which ran for 4 months from December 2011 ended with 100 episodes.[7]

The show was also remade into Malayalam as Amma which was aired on Asianet.[8] This serial ran from 2011-2015 completing 1008 episodes. It had high TRP ratings in the initial 2 years.[9]

This show is remade into Tamil as Bombukutty Ammavuku airing on STAR Vijay.[10]
