Magdi Abdelghani

Magdi Abdelghani Sayed Ahmed (Arabic: مجدي عبد الغني سيد أحمد‎; born 27 July 1959) is an Egyptian retired professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder.[1] Contrary to popular belief, He isn't the first player to score a goal for Egypt in the world cup as it was Abdulrahman Fawzi who scored twice in the 1934 FIFA World Cup. [2]

Playing career

Abdelghani played 50 caps for Egypt, at the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy he scoring a penalty against Netherlands.[3]

He also competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics,[4] and helped the Pharaohs win the 1986 African Cup of Nations on home soil. He also won an All-African Games gold medal in 1987.[5]
