Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood

Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood (Urdu: مخدوم احمد محمود) is a Pakistani businessman and politician who is the chairman of JDW Group.[3] Belonging from District Rahim Yar Khan, situated in South Punjab, he has been elected to the Punjab and National Assemblies on PML-F tickets. In the end of 2012, President Asif Ali Zardari declared him Governor-designate of Punjab.[4]

Early life

Ahmed Mehmood was born in 1961. His father was Makhdoom Syed Hassan Mehmood, a politician who was elected as opposition leader. Ahmed Mehmood's grandfather was Makhdoom Ghulam Meeran Shah, who was a Sufi saint.

On 25 December 2012 he took oath as 29th Governor of Punjab. He resigned from the post of the governor on 13 May 2013 after PML-N swept the elections but president rejected the resignation.[5][6][7] he also has three sons, his first son Syed Murtaza Mehmood, his second son Syed Mustafa Mehmood and his third son Syed Ali Mehmood.
