Manoj Tiger

Manoj Singh Tiger, popularly known as Manoj Tiger, is an Indian film actor mainly active in Bhojpuri films. He is famous for his comedic roles in films.[2] He has worked as main villain in several Bhojpuri films. He is also worked in Bollywood film such as The Accidental Prime Minister and Batla House.[3]

Early life and education

Tiger was born 30 May 1976 in the Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh to his father Uday Narayan Singh and Radhika Singh. He belongs to a Rajput family. He attend University of Allahabad and attained the degree of Bachelor of Arts.[4]

Career

After completing graduation, Tiger went to Mumbai and joined with "Prithvi Theater". After taking over the theater, he formed the "Panch Raag Group" and had its first performance in 1999 Netaji Ka Platform Show. Manoj Ojha's play 'Mans Ka Roodan' became the foundation for establishing Manoj Tiger. When the same Manoj Ojha started the Bhojpuri film, he did not forget to put Manoj Tiger on the silver screen, The film was 'Chalat Musafir Moh Liyo Re'. This film befriended Dinesh Lal Yadav and Manoj Tiger, the friendship was such that the two together made about three dozen films. In 2007, he worked in Nirahua Rickshawala with Dinesh Lal Yadav and Pakkhi Hegde and the film became such a huge hit that entire cast became Bhojpuri's star. He played a variety of roles. But audience did not forget Batasha Chacha role of Nirahua's film Nirahua Rickshawala till date. The popularity of this character has been that two films in the name of Batasha Chacha have also been released.[5]

Tiger is an accomplished actor. The more cleverly he tickles you in comedic roles,[6] the more he can imbibe negative characters and become a hater. He is also a writer. He has written about a dozen Bhojpuri films and a quarter dozen Hindi theatricals. Free from the shackles of the image, Tiger is the Paresh Rawal of Bhojpuri cinema.[7][8]
