Marion van Zuilen
Marion van Zuilen (born 12 December 1971) is a Dutch former long track speed skater, who was active between 1986 and 1994. She later became a road racing cyclist.[1] She grew up in Zijderveld and later lived in Nieuwegein.

Career
Between 1988 and 1991 she became three times juniorn national champion. Her main rivals were at the time Annamarie Thomas and Sandra Voetelink.[2][3] She participated at the 1989, 1990 and 1991 World Junior Speed Skating Championships.[3]
Between 1990 and 1994 she had a total of 14 starts at national championships. She won the silver medal at the 1990 Dutch Sprint Championships.[3] Van Zuilen became a member of the national team KNSB-Kernploeg in 1992 of Henk Gemser.[2] She represented her nation at the ISU Speed Skating World Cups in 1000 metres, 15000 metres and 3000 metres events. She made her international World Cup debut during the 1992-93 speed skating season in Berlin, Germany on 28 November 1992 in the 1500 metres event where she finished 21st.[3][1]
Van Zuilen was nominated for the 1992 Winter Olympics, but due to an intervertebral injury she was unable to train for a long time and had to leave the KNSB-Kernploeg.[4][5] She started an alternative team together with Sandra Voetelink trained by Floor van Leeuwen.[6] When she got another injury, a heart muscle infectionagain, she had to convalesce for a year.[7] She had to stop with top level speed skating and switched to road cycling. She was part of several sponsore teams. She finished among others third at the Tour of Belgium, won the Flevotour and finished second at the Parel van de Veluwe behind Leontien van Moorsel.[2]
When Van Zuilen was 30 years old she quit elite sports to take over her father's business. She played tennis at recreational level. Van Zuilen has a daughter.[2]
