Martin Reynolds (civil servant)

Martin Reynolds CMG is a British civil servant and a former British ambassador.[1] He was appointed Principal Private Secretary to the Prime Minister in October 2019, having served previously from December 2014 to January 2018 in the same role within the Foreign Office, in part for a duration when the incumbent Prime Minister Boris Johnson was serving as Foreign Secretary.[2][3]

Before working in Downing Street, Reynolds was appointed as the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Libya for a short tenure between April and September 2019.[3][4]

Reynolds has also served at the British High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa as Deputy High Commissioner between July 2011 and November 2014 .[5][6]

Before entering government, Reynolds was working as a lawyer in London.[1] He is also an alumnus of the Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge, having obtained a master's degree in Law.[7]
