May Calamawy

May Calamawy (born 28 October 1986)[1][2] is a Palestinian-Egyptian actress.

Early life and career

Calamaway was born in Bahrain, to an Egyptian father and a Jordanian/Palestinian mother and was raised in Houston, Texas and Doha, learning Arabic and English.[3][4] She attended Massachusetts College of Art and Design before transferring to Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. Her mother died of cancer by age 25.[5][6]

In June 2020, she revealed in an op-ed that at age 22, she was diagnosed with Alopecia areata.[7]

In January 2021, she was cast in Moon Knight.[8]
