May I Come In Madam? is a Hindi-language Indian fiction and sitcom television series which premiered on 7 March 2016 on Life OK and aired Monday to Friday.[1] The series ended on 25 August 2017 due to the channel's new line-up policy.

    Plot

    A young man, Sajan Agarwal, is dejected after being constantly henpecked by his wife. However, he is smitten by his good-looking boss Sanjana and seeks her attention. Sajan Agarwal is mentally tortured by his mother-in-law and Bhupesh.

    Characters

    • Neha Pendse: As Sanjana (Madam) who is straightforward and mysterious. She is a friend of Sajan's wife, Kashmira and calls her "Kash" and often bullies Sajan although in a good-humoured way which Sajan himself enjoy most of the time. She enjoys Sajan's company and often drinks with him.
    • Sandeep Anand: As Sajan Agarwal. He has a common dialogue. He is mentally tortured by his mother-in-law and Bhupesh. He falls in love with his new boss, Sanjana. He has a friend Named Khiloni. He enjoys the company of Sanjana and often flirts with her. He also help Sanjana in many troublesome situations. After coming from office he joins Khiloni and drinks with him discussing his day in office.
    • Sapna Sikarwar: As Sajan's wife, Kashmira. She is loving and keeps an eye on Sanju. It is seen that if she is very sad or angry, her grandmother, who is a ghost makes space in her and beats the person who is near to her. Despite having a good friendship with Sanjana, she often suspects that Sanjana and Sajan are having an affair mainly due to strange things which Sajan and Sanjana sometimes do.
    • Vaibhav Mathur: As Rajkishore. He is neighbour of Sajan who suspects that his wife is having an affair. Therefore, whenever his wife is not at home he invades Sajan's house and annoys him.
    • Anup Upadhyay: As Sanjana's father, Chedilal Hiteshi. He use to work as a Peon in Use Me Advertisement Company.
    • Shama Rathod: As Ramvati
    • Deepesh Bhan: As Bhupesh

    Production fire

    In April 2017, the cast and crew were taping on set at Film City in Goregaon, Mumbai, when high-intensity lights exploded, resulting in a fire. Shooting was halted for several hours, the production team put out the fire, and no one was injured.[7][8][9]

    Reception

    By October 2016, after six months of broadcast, the series was one of the top-running shows on Life Ok and had a TRP of 0.9.[10]

    Sequel

    Owing to its popularity and success, the producers of the show launched a sequel titled Excuse Me Maadam, which revolves around a similar concept and storyline, however changes were made in the cast as it features Rajesh Kumar as Sanam Harjayi, Nyra Banerjee as Sanam's boss and Sucheta Khanna as Sanam's caring wife.[11][12] Sapna Sikarwar and Anup Upadhyay are also part of the series. Anup Upadhyay portrays Adhu, who is Sanam's best friend and husband of his sister-in-law Amar, played by Sapna Sikarwar.[13]
