Club career

Early career

Mujdža began his professional career with his hometown team Zagreb.[3]

SC Freiburg

In June 2009, he transferred to Bundesliga club SC Freiburg,[4] and debuted on 22 August against Bayer Leverkusen.[5]

On 12 January 2011, Mujdža extended his contract until 2016.[6]

Mujdža scored his only goal against 1. FC Köln, in a 4–1 victory on 28 April 2012.[7]

In 2015, he became the vice-captain of his team.[8]

1. FC Kaiserslautern

After his contract expired, Mujdža signed for 1. FC Kaiserslautern on 28 August 2016.[9] However, an injury sustained during pre-season training, diagnosed as articular cartilage damage, kept him out for the whole season and he left the club without playing a single game.[10]

On 14 November 2017, Mujdža announced his retirement from professional football.[11]

International career

Mujdža represented Croatia on various youth levels.[12]

In May 2010, Mujdža confirmed that he would opt to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the future.[13] Mujdža earned his first call-up for matches against Sweden and Germany in June 2010.[14] On 10 August 2010, he made his debut in a friendly game against Qatar.[15]

Mujdža was named in Bosnia and Herzegovina's squad for their first major tournament, 2014 FIFA World Cup.[16] He made his tournament debut on 16 June, in a 1–2 loss against Argentina.[17]

Personal life

Mujdža's family is from Doboj, Bosnia and Herzegovina.[18] His older brother, Jasmin, also played for Bosnia and Herzegovina.[19]
