Mert Fırat

Şahabettin Mert Fırat[1] (born 10 January 1981) is a Turkish actor and screenwriter.

Life

Fırat is of Turkish, Circassian and Arab descent.[2] His father is singer Nihat Fırat. After finishing high school, he studied radio and television broadcasting in Sweden.[3][4][5] He then returned to Ankara and took acting classes in Ankara University. Fırat graduated from the theatre department of Ankara University and took his master's degree in Film and Drama from Kadir Has University. He founded the "Moda Theatre" and "Das Das" in Istanbul, and "Sanat Mahal" in Bursa. He has appeared in more than fifteen films since 2005 and has won many awards. In October 2017 the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Turkey chose Fırat as a Goodwill Ambassador in Turkey.[6]
