Michael D. MacDonald

Before being elected to the state senate, Dr. MacDonald worked in the health care field as an exercise physiologist and personal trainer for nearly 10 years prior to obtaining a Doctoral Degree in Health Care Administration in 2015.[1]

MacDonald was at the Michigan House Oversight Committee's Hearing on Election Issues on December 1, 2020 where Mellissa Carone was a key witness regarding the Trump administration's claims of voter fraud in the 2020 U.S. Presidential election. The Vice Chair of the meeting, Sen. Jeff Irwin, asked Carone how her testimony about how alleged incorrect ballot counting occurred does not reflect in the votes totals seen in the ballot books, a point underscored several times by former Michigan director of elections Christopher Thomas including in response to her previously submitted written affidavit.[2][3] Carone's replies did not resolve the seeming mathematical inconsistency but MacDonald as next speaker changed the subject to praise Carone's testimony as "unbelievably compelling" and "excellent"[2] and asked her, a freelance IT worker, "Where is the Department of Justice in this?".
