Miroslav Nedvěd
Miroslav Nedvěd is a former Czechoslovak slalom canoeist who competed in the 1970s. He won two medals at the 1977 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Spittal with a gold in the C-2 team event and a silver in the C-2 event. On 31.5.2018 he was sentenced by District Court Prague 4 (decision No. 4 T 5/2018) to a probational prison sentence of 6 months + damage compensation for having physically assaulted a neighbor, resulting in serious injury and permanent disablement of the victim. The sentence was confirmed by the appeals court - Prague City Court on 20.9.2018 by its decision No. 7To 286/2018. He was subsequently sued by his victim in a civic proceeding for compensation. The matter was settled out of court for a six digit amount (in CZK) paid to the victim in December 2019.
