Mitragyna

Mitragyna is a genus of trees in the family Rubiaceae found in the tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and Africa. Members of this genus contain antimalarial and analgesic indole alkaloids.[1] The Rubiacae are the fifth-largest family of flowering plants by number of genera, and the fourth- or fifth-largest by number of species.
