Modlany
Modlany (German: Modlan) is a municipality and village in Teplice District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,100 inhabitants.

Administrative parts
Villages of Drahkov, Kvítkov, Suché and Věšťany are administrative parts of Modlany. Area of Žichlice village, which was abandoned in 1988 because of expansion of coal mining, is also a part of the Modlany municipality.[2]
Geography
Modlany is situated 4 kilometres east of Teplice, between the two cities of Teplice and Ústí nad Labem. It has an average elevation of 188 m and an area of 10.1 km². In the municipality is located a football complex and a World War II memorial.
History
The village was first mentioned in a written document in 1328. Before it belonged to the perimeter of the Kyšperk Castle. The church was established in 1352 and the first school was built in 1899.
