Moldtelecom

Moldtelecom is a national telecommunications operator in Moldova. Created on April 1, 1993, as part of the national telecommunications restructuring, Moldtelecom was a state company. On January 5, 1999, Moldtelecom was reorganized and became a joint-stock company with the state being the unique stockholder. The company provides fixed telephony and Internet services of national coverage. The services, however, are unavailable in Transnistria.

Telephony

Moldtelecom is the main communications provider in Moldova controlling 97% of the market in Moldova.

Amplus is the trade name of the fixed telephone network wireless (Wireless Local Loop-WLL) based on CDMA technology, which uses the standard CDMA2000 and has been launched by Moldtelecom in 2007. The advantage of this technology is that allows you to use telephone service even in regions where the connection to the traditional telephone network is difficult or even impossible. Amplus provides services similar to traditional telephony: receiving and making calls, access to network Internet and many other additional services. For doing this, Amplus subscribers need a wireless phone, that they are receiving for free when mains Amplus communication. The advantages of Amplus communication are:

Moldtelecom company provides Video Telephony too. Video Telephony enables video call between two or more persons located both on the territory of the Republic of Moldova (national) and abroad (International). This is a new service in Moldtelecom.

Internet

Dial-Up
Dial-up connection is available across the country everywhere where there is a land-line available and is offered under the brand of "Internet Total".[2][3]

xDSL
Moldtelecom provides xDSL Internet access under the brand of "MaxDSL". The network was launched on November 1, 2004, utilizing ADSL2+ standard. Current plans provide download speeds ranging from 6 to 20 Mbit/s and upload speeds of 1 Mbit/s. The service is available throughout the country.

FTTx
Moldtelecom provides FTTx Internet access under the brand of "MaxFiber". The network was launched on April 16, 2008, and utilizes mainly FTTB connection method. Current plans provide download and upload speeds ranging from 30 to 300 Mbit/s. The service is available in all cities and regional centers.

IPTV
Since 2009 Moldtelecom offers IPTV services to its internet subscribers. The service is paired with internet (Internet + IPTV) and is provided through MaxDSL or MaxFiber networks.

Mobile Telephony / Unité

Unité Logo

Unité is a mobile network operator in Moldova, working in CDMA, UMTS, LTE standards. Moldtelecom is 100% shareholder of the operator. The service is available throughout the country.
Unité offers mobile Internet services with speeds up to 175 Mbit/s.
21 May 2010 becomes one of the most memorable days, Unité moves to a new stage of development of mobile communications around the country and becomes the operator with the largest network of the third generation of the Republic of Moldova working in the UMTS standard.
