Musa Yerniyazov

Musa Tajetdinovich Yerniyazov (December 20, 1947 – July 31, 2020[1]) was a Soviet, then Uzbek state and political figure. He was Chairman of the Jokargi Kenges (Parliament) of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Member of the Senate and Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Education

  • In 1971 he graduated from the Tashkent Institute of irrigation and melioration in the specialty of engineer-electrician.
  • In 1986 he graduated from Tashkent higher Party School.
  • After graduating from the institute, he worked as an engineer from 1971 to 1975 year, and then as the head of the automated system of the 25 mobile column.
  • From 1975 to 1983, the referent is the head of the capital construction department, managing the affairs of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
  • From 1983 to 1989 — Minister of Housing and communal services of Karakalpak ASSR.
  • From 1989 to 1990, he was a permanent representative of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan under the Cabinet of Ministers of the USSR.
  • From 1990 to 1996 he was the head of the Karakalpak state regional base.
  • From 1996 to 1998 he was the head of the Union of "Aralboy" of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
  • From 1998 to 2000 he was the chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan.
  • From 2000 to 2001, the governor of the Chimbay District of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, then the chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan until May 2002.
  • In May 2002, he was elected chairman of the Jokargy Kenges of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, from August 29, 2002 as the chairman of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Three times (2005, 2010, 2015) he was elected the chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Death

On June 24, 2020, Musa Yerniyazov confirmed the infection COVID-19, while he was located in the Nukus branch of the Republican specialized surgical scientific and practical Medical Center named after academician Vohidov. He was diagnosed with a very severe case of COVID-19 infection, bilateral pneumonia. The disease is accompanied by such complications as acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute respiratory and cardiovascular, polyorgan, acute liver and kidney failure, brain tumors, stroke. He also suffered from such side diseases as diabetes, hypertension, arterial hypertension. On July 18, 2020, the press service of the Ministry of Health reported that Yerniyazov was infected with a Coronavirus infection, while his health was stable and treated in Nukus.[2] Later it became known that he was connected to the IVL apparatus and his health deteriorated. He died on July 31, 2020 due to complications caused by coronavirus infection.[3]
