New Zealand Institute of Chemistry

The New Zealand Institute of Chemistry (NZIC) is professional organisation supporting chemical sciences in New Zealand and a learned society promoting the science and practice of chemistry founded in 1931.[1] The NZIC hosts conferences, seminars and workshops. It is the professional body for chemistry in New Zealand. Membership allows the use of the MNZIC suffix to signify affiliation, followed by promotion to Fellowship (FNZIP) for suitably qualified and experienced candidates.

The NZIC is a member of the Federation of Asian Chemical Societies (FACS).[2]

Membership

A member of the New Zealand Institute of Chemistry is designated with the honorific affix "MNZIC".[1] As the professional body for chemistry in New Zealand, the Institute can promote a member to Fellow of the institute ("FNZIC"). This requires a minimum of 5 years’ professional experience as a Member, and the candidate must have shown a substantial measure of ability or achievement in chemistry.[1]
