Background

Fulton was born in Enniskillen, County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland, and was educated at Portora Royal School and Queen's University Belfast. His late father, Alexander 'Sandy' Fulton was capped for the Northern Ireland international football team in 1960–61.

Career

Nial Fulton is a Walkley [1] [2] and AACTA award winning producer [3][4] and writer. His films have been recognised with many major awards and nominations in Australia and internationally.

Fulton worked extensively with the Irish Film Board and Northern Ireland Screen on a diverse range of co-productions, features and television drama. After moving to Australia, he worked with some of the countries leading producers, developing and producing a diverse slate of international productions for major international broadcasters, including BBC, Channel 4, ABC, RTÉ, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, Arte, France 5, SBS and Al Jazeera.

In 2013, Fulton joined forces with film-maker Ivan O'Mahoney to create In Films, a Sydney-based production company specialising in high-end documentary and fact based drama. The company was nominated for the Screen Producers of Australia Breakthrough Business of the Year 2016.

Between 2018 - 2020, Fulton produced Revelation, a three part series with Sarah Ferguson on clerical abuse in the Catholic Church in Australia.[5] [6] The series took out the prestigious Walkley Documentary Award, the second time Fulton and Ferguson have won that award. [7]
