Nicole Akins Boyd

Nicole Akins Boyd is an American politician. She is a Republican who represents the 9th district in the Mississippi State Senate.

Childhood and family

Boyd grew up in Oxford, Mississippi,[3] and graduated from Oxford High School.[2] Her father, Noal Akins[3] represented the 12th district in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 2004 to 2012.[4]

Boyd and her husband, Daniel, have two children and live in Oxford.[2]

Political career

In 2019, Boyd ran for election to represent the 9th district in the Mississippi State Senate, replacing Gray Tollison, who had decided not to run for re-election.[3] She was unopposed in the Republican primary, and defeated Democrat Kevin Frye in the general election with 58.2% of the vote.[1]
