Political career

Molapo served as a councillor in the Tshwane Metropolitan Municipality before her election to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in the May 2019 general election.[1] In June 2019, she became a member of the education committee and an alternate member of both the petitions and social development committees.[2]

In January 2020, the DA's Federal Legal Commission found her guilty of leaking confidential information to the Economic Freedom Fighters back in 2017, when she served as a Tshwane councillor. The DA's federal executive subsequently dismissed her as a party member on 29 January 2020.[3] She proceeded to appeal the verdict to the FLC's appeal panel, but it was upheld on 16 October 2020, and she was expelled from the party. Consequently, she was removed as a member of the provincial legislature.[4]

Personal life

In early-October 2020, Molapo accused former Tshwane mayor and current DA caucus leader in the legislature, Solly Msimanga, of sexual harassment. She alleges that the incident happened in 2014.[5] Msimanga denies the allegation.
