His previous clubs were South Korean clubs Pohang Steelers and Jeonnam Dragons, Daegu FC and Grazer AK in the Austrian Bundesliga.

In the 2009 AFC Champions League Final, he scored the decisive free kick goal against Al-Ittihad. The game ended 2–1 for Pohang Steelers and he was voted MVP of the match.

International career

He scored his only international goal against Hong Kong on 7 February 2010.
